National Identity as a brand identity
If these countries have logos what would they be?
have the main face of the logo be related or take the format of that exhibitions largest contributor
the devaluing of a flag as a form of countries strength-look back at Armenian exhibition?
what is now holding most of the countries power? These big bussnisses
they are really whats running these countries
the flag no longer represents the togetherness of a nation state
big business is even supporting the arts in a way to help their national identity
do a short statement about each of them
then a longer one with the overarching idea
how art stands in the way for a brand
Questions-
My relation to the work or experience as a forigner?
Of course the American is going to try to boil down complexities into an image
How the Venice Bennalie is a brand within itself
How to:
What a brand identity can contribute?
How can a strong trused brand bring attention to larger issues?
What would every countries colors be?

Like peaking through a window the the structure that obstruct my view from looking at the work.
Taking into account the backround of funding ect. that goes into each pavilion
"When I think about the pavilions I think about a building of a nationality-through these wholes."
Maybe do them all in paper and re photogrpah them
Trying to make something polished the looks good. Out of shitty material to begin with.
Yikes
Maybe play with positive and negitive space
should the image of art come through the logos negitive space or take over its positive space?
Leave logos white-
Grubanov explores the historical and cultural setting of Venice Biennale as the platform for projection and representation of different visions of modernity. The installation United Dead Nations aims to establish a dialogue on what does the notion of the nation represent in our post-global times by putting in focus the nations that no longer exist as such, but whose ghosts are still conditioning the geo-spheres they had occupied (Austro-Hungarian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Soviet Union, German Democratic Republic, Yugoslavia, etc.)
Ivan Grubanov thereby puts the emphasis the process of image making by involving the dead flags as models, means and material during his painting ritual. The artist’s intention lies in the creation of a new symbolical field, which questions the value frameworks of art, at the same time enabling the reestablished authorities of dead nations to continue competing in the domain of the visible.

SWATCH FACES-
Swatch Faces is the fun new app from Swatch. Take a photo of yourself face and move three color-samplers to different areas of the portrait. Each color combination matches a different Swatch watch, chosen from the current collections and a selection of the brand's iconic models. It’s a great way to get to know the latest Swatch collections, or to show that one's face is the ideal match-up to a famous Swatch Art Special!
Cindy Sherman-
in order to explore a wide range of common female social roles, or personas. Sherman sought to call into question the seductive and often oppressive influence of mass-media over our individual and collective identities. Turning the camera on herself in a game of extended role playing of fantasy Hollywood, fashion, mass advertising, and "girl-next-door" roles and poses, Sherman ultimately called her audience's attention to the powerful machinery and make-up that lay behind the countless images circulating in an incessantly public, "plugged in" culture. Sexual desire and domination, the fashioning of self identity as mass deception, these are among the unsettling subjects lying behind Sherman's extensive series of self-portraiture in various guises.
self identity is often an unstable compromise between social dictates and personal intention.
